We rescue food in large amounts with our fleet of refrigerated vehicles, and in smaller amounts by partnering with staff and volunteers from among our nearly 400 nonprofit members throughout our 11-county region.
Food safety is our top priority in food rescue, so prepared and perishable foods must adhere to strict time and temperature guidelines and can not have been put out for service. Fresh produce and shelf-stable goods do not have temperature restrictions, but should be kept in a clean location, safe from physical or chemical contaminants.
For donors with frequent excess, we will work to match you with a food safety-trained agency near you that can visit you regularly for donations. The Food Bank will handle all receipting, and ensure the match is working out well.
Please reach out to one of our Sourcing staff to learn how we can rescue your excess food!.
